How can I get started?

We urge everyone to start with our Introductory Free Lesson.

When can I take lessons?

We are open everyday of the week from 9 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. for private lessons.

Do I need a partner?

A partner is not required. Whether you are attending Private Lessons, Group Classes, or Parties, you will either be dancing with one of our trained professionals or another studio member.

What should I wear?

We recommend comfortable attire. Please do not wear sneakers or shoes with rubber soles. For ladies, a shoe with a back or strap would be the preferred choice.

What if I can't make a lesson?

We have a 24-hour cancellation notice policy in effect; it will be strictly enforced, except for emergencies.

Can anyone learn to dance?

Yes! We are committed to teaching you how to dance in a fun, easy way. In many ways, dancing is like walking.

How long will it take to become a good dancer?

There are many factors that influence how long it will take to become a good dancer. Two important factors are frequency of lessons and amount of practice time you can put in. Dancing is a developmental process and we are happy to work with any dancer at any level of experience.

Do you train dancers for competition?

We train competitors in the following dance styles: American Smooth and Latin, International Standard and Latin, Theater Arts, and Cabaret Dancing. We have a competition size dance floor so that our students can train on a floor similar to most competition floors. There are many opportunities for Rochester Area students to find dance competitions. Two good links to competitions are: http://www.usadance.org/ and http://www.ontariodancesport.com/page12.php

Is there a time when I can practice?

Yes! On Thursday evenings between 7:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. we have an open practice session for Let's Dance Rochester Students. The entire ballroom floor is available. You may request your own music.

Is there a time for social dancing?

What if I have a special event and have little time to prepare?

In this situation, we advise our students to go straight into a regular lesson as the Introductory Package is designed to introduce you to the studio and the basic steps.
